From the Fundraising Team

The biggest news on the events calendar in the last few months was the annual Youth Opps Golf Day, sponsored by long time supporters Tanti Constructions, NAB, Amadio Wines, Coca-Cola, Phil Hoffmann Travel and Holdfast Insurance.

Held at the stunning Glenelg Golf Club on Friday May 8th, it was a fabulously successful day which saw us raise nearly $70,000.  This year we celebrated the return of the inimitable Lee Newton to the organizing Committee, the advent of ‘BBQ Bob’ Loveday and his lovely wife Deb, and we welcomed back Joe Papparella of NAB.  The wet weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of our golfers as 36 teams competed for the coveted trophy, eventually taken out by another long time supporter, Mike Lunniss’ Team from Eureka Group.

We’re also celebrating our Grants & Foundations success, achieving around $180,000 in the last few months alone. This is the equivalent of putting nearly 180 students through the Personal Leadership Program!

To enable us to transform even more lives, our next big fundraiser, the Winter Feast, is just around the corner on Friday August 28th and this year we are shaking things up a little and holding the dinner in a slightly unorthodox but stunning Solitaire Automotive Showroom on Belair Road.  This is the night where our supporters get to glam up, kick up their heels, and help us raise funds for both our existing and new programs in schools, all while enjoying fabulous food, wine and entertainment.  One of the main highlights of the evening is the drawing of the Parisian Luxury Lottery where two lucky people will be off to Paris for 6 nights in a stunning apartment, thanks to our generous donors Helen and Legh Davis.
