A Farewell from Peter Carey

Friends,

It has been a great pleasure to lead Youth Opportunities over the last five years and I’m immensely proud to have been a part of our many team achievements, such as the launch of our scholarships; Thrive, the online program, and Project 360 including resources for teachers and parents.

During this time, our Personal Leadership Program has expanded to every region of our state, reaching out to more communities in need of our services, and we were also able to award a full university scholarship in collaboration with the Adam Scott Foundation – truly life-changing. Our fundraising events have also gone from strength to strength, with last year’s Stars In The Garden being our most successful fundraising event to date.

Being a part of this organisation has been hugely rewarding and being in this position gave me great purpose, seeing so much inspirational change in our young graduates over the years.

I am looking forward to seeing so many of you on Friday at my farewell ‘Roast’ which promises to be a fun afternoon – with plenty of tales to tell, I’m sure!

For now, I know Youth Opportunities will continue to remain a part of my life and I hope it will remain a part of yours too. Thank you all for your incredible and generous support, which continues to sustain this fantastic organisation.

I hope to see you soon.

Peter Carey
