In Service To Others

23 July 2019 / Team

Youth Opportunities has been incredibly fortunate to receive the support of Service Clubs right across South Australia for many years, and their support, like that of all our donors, is vital to our existence. Not only do we share similar values as these wonderful organisations, but the positive outcomes we want to see for young people in Australia are also aligned.

During May, our CEO Erin attended the Rotary Club of Somerton Park Quiz night and experienced first-hand Rotarian fellowship and friendship as guests packed Club Holdfast raising funds for Youth Opportunities. While Erin’s table did not take out the winner’s trophy, Erin says she was feeling like more than a winner when after the event the club presented a cheque of $5,000 to help support more young people in South Australia gain access to our programs and services.

And, just weeks before – over coffee with two very special Youth Opportunities supporters Donald and Jill Cant – we also received a surprise visit from Bruce and Chris Grimm, and Club President at the time Alan Larkin of the Rotary Club of Holdfast Bay, of which Donald and Jill are members. They popped by to present a cheque of $1,000 to Youth Opportunities from their Rotary Club, showing their ongoing commitment and support for our cause.

We would like to sincerely thank and acknowledge the tireless service of the members of all Service Clubs across Australia, and the globe, who work hard to support our communities. As a local charity, we could not do what we do without each of you, and your generosity and kindness does not go unnoticed by us all.
