We are so excited to announce that Youth Opportunities has been successful in winning a $100,000 grant through Impact 100 SA!

The third annual Grants Awards dinner was held last week at the Arkaba Hotel. Youth Opportunities was one of four outstanding finalists on the night including Backpacks for SA Kids, Operation Flinders and MOSH. Each organisation was required to give a seven-minute presentation outlining the purpose of the organisation, the impact it has made within the community and explain how the funds would be used if successful.

Libby McMichael, Head of Marketing and Fundraising and Courtney Grigg, Trainer, gave a compelling presentation; outlining our latest initiative, the YES Project that will see our programs rolled out in the South-East of SA for the first time.

There is a great need to get prevention based programs up and running within the region to ensure we are building resilience in our next generation and empowering young people across the whole state. This $100,000 will help make sure our next generation are confident, happy and resilient and can contribute positively to their community, to our state and society.

“We are delighted to receive these funds and be able to support the launch of programs in the South-East. We have been working in the community for the past couple of months, and they excited to be partnering with us. There is a strong need to increase the well-being of young people in the region, to ensure they don’t just cope, they thrive” – Peter Carey, CEO

These funds will ensure we can properly establish the organisation within the region and support the program long-term, creating a long-term sustainable outcome for the young people and the community.

Youth Opportunities would like to thank James, Frank, Stephanie and the team at PwC, who were invaluable in their guidance throughout the process.
