David Whelan

Board Member

David was a senior executive at Whelancare from 1997, including Chief Executive Officer from 2003 – 2015.  He played an integral role in overseeing its acquisition by Japara Healthcare in 2015.

Currently, David is a Director on the PMY Group Board, a dedicated member of the Sacred Heart College School Council, and manages the Whelan Family office. He also had 30 years in community football as a player, coach, and administrator at Goodwood Saints Football club, Sacred Heart Old Collegians Football Club and has been on the Board of the Glenelg Football Club for the last 10 years. Other community roles have included being an external Director on the Somerton Surf Life Saving Club Board of Management for 5 years.

David has a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) and is a Certified Practising Accountant, holding a senior management position at Deloitte from 1994-1997.
