On Friday 10 May, the 17th Annual Youth Opportunities Golf Day, presented by Tanti Group of Companies, saw 38 teams and 114 players tee off at the Glenelg Golf Club.
This year’s event kicked off with a BBQ brunch from Rapid Relief Team before players hit the green. Throughout the course, participants enjoyed an array of South Australian refreshments, including wine from Miracle Hill, Vili’s snack packs, and Brighton Foodland’s famous “Ruggy’s Trout”. The on-course mini-games were a highlight as always, featuring a Hole in One competition for a chance to win an all-electric Subaru Solterra.
The day concluded with sunset drinks, followed by a sit-down dinner, hosted by our phenomenal Golf Day Committee. The dinner provided ample opportunities for our enthusiastic attendees to engage with our cause, through live and silent auctions, a raffle, and a wine wall – supported by dozens of generous donors.
We heard from our student speaker, Sarah, who shared the impact of the Personal Leadership Program on her life:
“This program helped me in so many ways. Something that will always stick with me is the lesson of ‘deciding to grow’ – no matter how hard life gets; you can always make it better. Youth Opportunities gave me such a positive and motivational outlook on my life. And the things I learnt I take with me every day. I don’t know where or how I would be without taking up this chance. It has changed my life.”
We are thrilled with this year’s record fundraising result of over $125,000! These funds will be directed towards our personal leadership programs, empowering young people like Sarah to achieve their version of success.
We are so grateful for the Golf Day community who contributed to making the event a resounding success, including our sponsors, committee, volunteers, and attendees. A special thanks to our returning players, some of whom continue to return year on year, and to the teams joining us for the first time – we look forward to many more years playing.
An extra special thanks to our sponsors:
