On the 28th of April, 36 teams and 108 players hit the course at Glenelg Golf Club for the 16th Annual Youth Opportunities Golf Day, presented by Tanti Constructions. This event is always an excellent day for players who enjoy a friendly but competitive round, and then come together for the cause after play.
The day began with a BBQ breakfast, before players hit the green. On-course, players were treated to plenty of South Australian favourites and delicacies, with wine from Miracle Hill, beer from Coopers, and Riverland gin. Volunteers from NAB cooked an excellent BBQ, Vili’s provided hot treats, perfect for the overcast day, and Brighton Foodland prepared perfectly seared beef fillet. On-course mini games were fiercely contested, including a Hole in One competition for a shot at winning a Porsche Macan.
Following play, guests enjoyed sunset drinks on the balcony, with a live FIVEaa radio broadcast, and then moved on to a sit-down dinner hosted by MC and radio legend Stephen Rowe. The dinner provided plenty of opportunities for our incredibly generous guests to become truly engaged with the cause, through the live and silent auctions, cash lottery, and wine wall.
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised in excess of $94,000, which will go back into programs to give young people who need it the most, the opportunity to thrive. We acknowledge gratefully all involved in the golf day and contributed to its success.
